1. INTRODUCTION:

The Faculty of Basic Sciences was originally called Basic Subjects of Hue Medical University, which included Department of Mathematics – Physics, Department of Biology and Department of Chemistry Medical. The Faculty went through a lot of changes and in 2008 the Faculty of Basic Sciences of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy was finally established with 4 Department: Mathematics and Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology and Physics – Biophysics.

In 2020, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy restructured and 4 departments of the Faculty were merged into 2 sections: Mathematics–Computer Sciences–Biology and Chemistry–Biophysics.

2. ORGANIZATIONAL AND STRUCTURE:

The Faculty of Basic Sciences includes two sections: Mathematics – Computer Science - Biology, Chemistry - Biophysics. Until May 2020, the Faculty currently has 23 lecturers, researchers and technicians.

The Faculty of Basic Sciences organizational structure:

Office Staffs:

  • Assistant to Undergraduate Academic Affairs: Le Thi Kim Dung, MSc
  • Assistant to Postgraduate Academic and Scientific Research: Nguyen Duc Tung, MSc
  • Assistant to Equipment Affairs:Nguyen Ngoc Huy, MSc

3. EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

The Faculty teaches basic subjects for all students in different domains and stages and consists of 5 subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Probability and Medical statistics, Computer skill and applied informatics, besides, the Faculty also participate in teaching undergraduate classes for priority students from mountainous and remote areas, Laos students, postgraduates, specialist level 1, master, and Internship specialist doctor.

The Faculty has completed the task of developing and implementing the Medical and Odonto-stomatology program in the direction of integration and based on professional practice competencies, build basic science modules specific to Medicine, Odonto-stomatology. Besides the Faculty has built an integrated curriculum based on professional practice competencies, building a module of the Faculty with specific characteristics of medicine, odonto-stomatology.

4. RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION:
