1. INTRODUCTION

Department of Infectious diseases-Tuberculosis of Hue University of Medical and Pharmacy has been unified from Infectious diseases department and Tuberculosis department since February 2020. The department has twelve members including 1 Associate Professor, 1 PhD and 7 Masters.

3. EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The department is responsible for teaching Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis for undergraduate and graduate students. Regarding undergraduate training, there are regular classes such as fifth-year general medicine, fourth-year preventive medicine, fifth-year traditional medicine, and third-year nursing. Classes of learning and practicing are 3rd-year general medicine, 3rd-year preventive medicine, 4th-year public health, 3rd-year traditional medicine. Graduate training includes first and second degree specialist in Infectious Diseases, orientation specialist in Infectious Disease, first degree specialist in Tuberculosis, first degree specialist in Internal Medicine, General Emergency Department, Dermatology, Family Medicine, Master's degree and Internal Resident Doctor, Hematology.

Most of the lecturers are practicing clinical at the main facility, which is the Tropical Diseases Department and Lung Disease Department of Hue Central Hospital. Besides, lecturers also take part in examination and treatment at Thua Thien Hue Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

4. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

In recent years, scientific research and international cooperation have also been focused. The department has had a Zika virus research project in collaboration with Jeju National University, Korea. There are a number of international articles, many articles published in specialized journals in the country, and participated in reports at conferences and seminars. The Department has organized many Science Conferences on Infectious Diseases and Tropical Diseases on a school and regional scale.
